by Ariana.

Ariana has been kind enough to do a little leg work (*rowr*) and has scared up some links on possible film funding leads. Not one to shy away from a little competition, I think I'll be submitting some material. Of course, #2 might be a bit of a stretch...

The Keep Walking Fund
The fund will be giving up to $500,000 in grants for innovative ideas in film...(and you get to make it too!)

Gordon Parks Award
...or just check out IFP and click the Gordon Parks awards...
The IFP is looking for African Americans to give two $10,000 awards - one each for directing and screenwriting. The award winning director also receives a $5,000 product grant from Eastman Kodak, and the top 5 finalists in each category get to participate in IFFM for free. Submission deadline is June 8, 2001.

Short Film Group
Based in Los Angeles, accepts shorts throughout the year for its quarterly series of screenings. The group is a non-profit organization created to promote short film "as a means to itself." Also, the organization is holding a competition for scripts. The winner will receive $10,000 worth of goods and services toward production and post-production of their film or video. Script deadline is August 1.

All She Wrote Screenplay Contest
A competition which aims to promote talented yet unrecognized female writers and to be a conduit to the Film/TV industry. The contest is open to all women who do not earn a living as a writer or are not considered "professional." Awards include money, software and industry recognition. (note : the deadline seems to have expired on this one, but it might be worth looking in to for next year -- I'm looking at you, Ms. Grace -- jim)
